Bruce Templin Receives Florida Southern Industry Award

Lakeland, Florida – At the Florida Southern College 51st Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet, Bruce Templin was honored with the Citrus/Horticulture Industry Award. This award is given to individuals who have provided support and guidance to Florida Southern and shown leadership within the industry.

As a graduate of Florida Southern College, Bruce has held many leadership positions advising the Citrus and Environmental Horticulture Department on current issues facing the industry. Within the industry, Bruce is a long time employee of Skinner Nurseries, Inc., one of the largest growers and distributors of green goods in the South. He is also an active and longstanding member of FNGA (Florida Nurserymen and Growers Association) and the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects).

Bruce has been responsible for the beautification of many high profile projects in the Central Florida area such as the City of Celebration, destination resorts and corporate complexes. He has the ability to create a bridge from the design rooms of landscape architects to the installation sites of these major projects. This ability has had a tremendous impact on the quality of landscaping in the Central Florida area.
