SKINNER NURSERIES INDUCTED INTO GREAT GAME OF BUSINESS HALL OF FAME
Jacksonville, FL - Skinner Nurseries, the leading supplier of green goods in the South, has been inducted into the Great Game of Business Hall of Fame.
The Great Game of Business, authored by Jack Stack, has been the basis of Skinner Nurseries’ open-book management business philosophy since 1997. The Great Game of Business was originally published in 1990 and led to a business awareness to the advantages that open-book can offer to businesses. The three foundations of the book - 1) Know the rules 2) Keep score and 3) Have a stake in the outcome – have helped Skinner Nurseries experience unprecedented growth in the past ten years. Skinner Nurseries is one of only seven companies who have been inducted into the GGOB Hall of Fame, which recognizes businesses who have most successfully used open-book management for at least a decade to strengthen its business, its processes and its people.
Kevin Van Dyke, President of Skinner Nurseries, accepted the award presented by Jack Stack at the National Gathering of Games in St. Louis earlier in March.
"The Great Game of Business and the principles of open-book management have provided our company with certain core beliefs. Core values can create a work environment where people engage and take personal pride in their contribution to serving customers and building relationships with their co-workers. Great organizations have a level of trust that is hard to achieve, and The Great Game of Business is a perfect framework for developing trust. We are extremely proud to represent the Great Game as a Hall of Fame Company and will continue to live up to expectations that being a Hall of Famer implies."
Skinner Nurseries which operates twenty five strategically located distribution centers across the southern United States, is one of the fastest growing suppliers of green goods in the Sun Belt.
