SKINNER NURSERIES HELPS SUPPORT LOCAL CHARITIES
Houston, Texas – In December, 2003, Skinner Nurseries’ Houston distribution center showed its support of Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County by donating and delivering dozens of assorted bushes, shrubs, and ornamentals – a full landscape package - to the community of Cherie Cove. The addition of these plants helped beautify and enhance the appearance of 56 new homes. Habitat for Humanity is an organization that is designed to build and give homes to families who wouldn’t ordinarily have the opportunity to own one.
In past years, Skinner has also generously donated to the Houston Zoo. A firm believer in supporting the communities in which they reside, Skinner’s management team continues to encourage all its distribution centers to get involved and make a difference. “I believe a key factor in the success of our company has been the long-term lasting relationships that we have built with our customers and the communities around us. Our community involvement is just one small way we can thank our return customers for their continuing business which has enabled Skinner to grow to what the company is today,” said Russell Skinner, President of Skinner Nurseries.
With 14 distribution centers now located across the Southeast, Skinner Nurseries continues to expand its network of coverage providing a wide range of material from annual color, shrubs, large trees, and palms to a full line of hardlines, including mulch and soil.
