SKINNER NURSERIES NEWEST ACQUISITION IN FLORIDA

Weirsdale, Florida – Skinner Nurseries, the leading supplier of green goods in the South,has acquired its newest branch, which services “The Villages” in central Florida, south of Ocala. The Villages is one of the fasting growing premier retirement communities in Florida with an unprecedented population growth of over 400% since 2000. The community provides a hometown atmosphere with two downtown areas and numerous recreational opportunities.

Located approximately 3½ miles east of the intersection of US Highway 27 and US 42, the nursery, formerly known as Total Landscape Supply, is a 20-acre facility. Skinner took over the center in late September and officially opened as Skinner Nurseries-The Villages on October 4. Skinner plans on doing additional site renovation to make the facility more easily accessible to landscape contractors and to increase their ability to stock larger trees and palms. The site is currently up and functioning with all remaining site work to be completed by November 1.
