SKINNER NURSERIES OPENS NURSERY NORTH OF HOUSTON
Houston, Texas - Skinner Nurseries, one of the nation's leading growers and distributors of nursery products, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida is pleased to announce the acquisition of Turkey Creek Nursery in Humble, Texas.
Russell Skinner, President of Skinner Nurseries remarked, "This 161 acre Houston facility fits nicely into our strategy of being a grower and distributor of green goods with regional nursery production facilities. The name of the game when serving landscape contractors is service, quality, and price. Having regional nurseries in Florida and Texas will allow us to better provide our customers all three. I know of no other distributor that can better serve its customers than we can. Having our own farms and growing much of what we sell, allows us to control the product from propagation to the landscape contractor."
Turkey Creek Farms is located on Highway 1960 in north Houston between Route 59 and I-45, just 4 miles north of the Intercontinental Airport. "We will immediately carve out 10-15 acres for a north Houston distribution center. This is a great location to serve all of the north side of town. This location will surely complement our current west Houston location on Barker
Cypress Road,” said Kevin Van Dyke, Chief Operating Officer for Skinner Nurseries.
Skinner Nurseries currently has 10 distribution centers serving the southern United States.
