Instructions for Using This Map

  1. Find the hardiness zone in which you are located.

     
  2. After each plant variety's botanical name, you will find a number in parenthesis. This number indicates the zone in which that particular variety is hardy. If the number in parenthesis is the same as or smaller than your zone number, the plant material listed should be hardy in your locale. However, it is possible that those varieties which are rated one zone higher than yours may be successfully used in your area.
